As I make my morning cup of brew.
Daisy decides to plop on top of the kitchen counter.
I remember when I first rescued her along with the other alley-cat Baghera.
Of all things, I never thought I’d be a cat person!
But things changed.
On a cold, rainy night, in the middle of July.
I found them curled up on my doorstep.
And now they sleep, safe and sound on my soft queen-size bed.
It’s a blessing, now that I think about it.
They’ve helped me realise to enjoy quiet moments-
with their mid-day naps and their care-free attitude.
I don’t feel guilty about enjoying a slow morning or a lazy afternoon.
I feel like a new person, and it’s only just the beginning.
