Now, it feels like it’s once in forever.
The air is pleasant, and fireflies dazzle in the moonlight.
Over cake, we share our slices of life.
A lot of gasps and laughter, he said, she said, were exchanged.

“Have you heard? He finally popped the question!”
“Oh! I heard she left town. What’s that about?”

We try to keep it short and crisp while 
a big chunk of our lives melts away. 
Leaving just the flavourful bits to be devoured.
By the end of it, we make broken promises to meet soon.
But who knows, maybe this time we’ll stick to it.
