While my friends jumped on puddles and danced in the rain. 
I took shelter under my umbrella. 
No, I wasn’t scared of getting caught in it,
I was fearless since it was my choice to let the rain in whenever I wanted it to.
I liked the sound it made as it thumped against my bright red umbrella. 
It was my little space, a home that roamed with me. 
I felt transported into a quiet cave, away from the noise of the everyday world.

I’m older now, yet everytime i walk into the rain with my trusty umbrella, 
I feel safe, I feel comforted, I feel like a child again.
